Tonight was one of those nights where I didn”t quite know what to expect. What I did know was that the movie Unstoppable was something I believed in. So much so, that when Facebook attemped to silence the promotion of the movie by shutting the page down, I, along with many others, stood our ground and were not about to let it happen. God wanted this movie made. He intended for the truth to be told and it would be told whether Facebook ever allowed the page back or not. Facebook eventually brought the page back.
My sister and I arrived at the theater early so that we could get decent seats. Showing up a half hour early wasn’t enough time to get a good seat. It didn’t matter. We were just happy to be there. The one thing that stood out was that there were no displays about the movie. Even the sign on the theater just said, “Special Event”. It made me wonder whether this was intentional. It was a bit strange for me to go to a movie theater and see absolutely no sign of the movie I was about to see.
I won’t go that much into the movie because I really think it is something that needs to be seen, by everyone. Unstoppable is as much a journey for the audience, as it is for its star, Kirk Cameron. After a close friend’s son dies, he is left wondering, “Where is God in the midst of tragedy and suffering?”. It is a question that I believe all people ask at one time or another. I know I have. We always hear about God being love and that He is always there, but is He? In the movie, we saw how Adam and Eve were created and then what happened at The Fall. Where was God during The Fall? Did He abandon Adam and Eve? What about with Cain and Abel? What about when everyone but Noah’s family were wiped off the face of the earth? Where was He? Where has He been in your life when you have endured tragedy or suffering? Where was He?
Those are pretty deep questions. I believe the movie Unstoppable does a great job of explaining God’s hand in those circumstances. Nothing on the face of this earth happens without God’s knowledge. He is an unstoppable God. Jesus proved that when he was crucified and rose again three days later. Unstoppable.

What I did get from Unstoppable was confirmation of what God has been telling me. To stand up for Him. To not be afraid to speak. To share with others what only I can share because of what I have been through. Did I expect that? Absolutely not. It just proves how amazing God is. I didn’t know what to expect, but God knew exactly what I needed. He is an unstoppable and amazing God!
