This book came into my hands at the perfect time. God knew I needed to read these words! As life continues to become more and more and more busy, it’s vital to remember that God ALWAYS needs to be first. No matter what I have on my schedule for the day, week, or month. God should always be first.
Author, Stovall Weems has dedicated his life to building his local church, reaching people for the gospel and developing passionate followers of Christ. In The God-First Life, he explains that the reason our lives are filled with anxiety and stress is simply because we are living a disordered way. If you’re like me and you’re a planner, you might wonder how your life can be disordered if you’re always managing and planning it. More than likely, the things on your to-do list may be ordered, but the priority of your relationship with God is out of order.
From the beginning of time, God created order. Our lives are meant to be ordered in such a way that God is first. Or that is how it was meant to be.
“You experience the God-first life by making one-time decisions to establish God’s will and ways in your life.”
Doing this, means you are consciously deciding to make God the number one priority in your life. No matter what comes up. No matter what you need to do in your day. No matter whether you have a long fun-filled day ahead or you were up late the previous night because you were caring for a sick child, when your feet hit the floor the next morning, God should already be first. Putting God first is not a decision that is made each morning you wake up. The decision once made, does not need to be made again, but it does need to be protected, especially if your life is filled with outside influences that vy for your attention.
This book will open your eyes to what might be missing in your life, the causes of your stress and anxiety and how to live The God-First Life. If you are ready to see what this is about, head over to Zondervan Books to find out how you can get a copy of The God-First Life for yourself!
