I am so excited about this review and giveaway for a Holman King James Bible! If you have been on my blog before you know that I love Bibles. I love to use different Bibles and different translations to help in my understanding of God’s Word. I have once again been blessed by Lev3lDigital to review three beautiful Bibles in the King James translation. Did you know that the King James Bible is the most trusted translation and also the one which is purchased more often? Although the King James translation is not my favorite, I believe it is the closest to the original. I will be reviewing three versions of King James Bible from Holman and Lifeway.
Holman King James Study Bible
Since I love to study the Word, I was so excited to see that one of the Bibles I would be reviewing would be a study Bible. The Holman King James Study Bible did not disappoint. This study Bible includes all the contents that you would normally see in a study Bible, such as photos, illustrations, maps, and a concordance, but what I love the most is it also includes a glossary of Kings English. If you have ever tried to read the King James version before, you know that it can sometimes be difficult to understand some of the words and that can actually cause a stumbling block in your learning what the Bible says. Having a glossary that explains those terms really makes this a wonderful study Bible that would be a great addition to your current Bible collection.
The One Big Story Bible
If you are a parent or someone who is looking for an appropriate Bible for a child, The One Big Story Bible is a great choice for any child. The One Big Story Bible includes 100 memory verses and is filled with colorful pictures. There are so many aspects of this children’s Bible that I love, that I can only share a few with you. Seeing the Big Picture is a feature that helps dig into key Bible stories and provides parents with topics to discuss. There are also full color maps. If you have a child who asks a lot of questions, you will love the sections that are entitled Big Questions. The Big Questions feature answers to some of the most popular questions kids have. Even though my kids are older, they love the newest feature which is a digital pop-up. Using a free downloadable app, a child is able to use augmented reality with some of the full page color illustrations. The One Big Story Bible is sure to be loved by any child who receives it.
Holman King James Reference Bible
While not as large as the King James Study Bible, the Holman King James Reference Bible is perfect for everyday use especially if you want to take it with you. This Reference Bible is covered in brown leather-touch material contains cross indexed scripture references and other information that would be helpful in your studying of God’s Word.
