My family loves to have game nights. We always play the same games over and over and really appreciate when we hear of a new game. I was so excited when Lev3l Digital introduced me to The Rank Game by Storytastic because it meant we would get to try something brand new!
What is The Rank Game?
The Rank Game was created as a way for families to take their eyes off of technology and put them back on each other where they belong. So many times families find themselves immersed in technology which has the unfortunate effect of not interacting with each other.
The Rank Game not only causes you to interact, it shows you that while you think you may know how someone thinks or believes, you might be mistaken! Using a simple category, the “ranker” places the four listed options in the order of his or her preference. For example, the category might be sports. The options would be football, hockey, soccer, baseball. The ranker chooses and then the other players have to write down on the tally sheets the order they “think” the ranker put the options in. Think you know someone?
Think again.
No matter how many times we play, I am surprised at how many times I get the rankings incorrect. My kids are wrong about my rankings as well. It’s really fun and really enlightening!
What if we finish all the cards?
The Rank Game has thought of that already! Expansion packs of cards are available to purchase which means this game can keep changing and keep going. Some expansion packs are geared more towards an adult crowd with their Relationship pack. The game can be used by families, friends, or in groups as ice-breakers or just a fun game night.
What are some fun facts about The Rank Game?
If you have heard of the platform Kickstarter for new products, you know that sometimes campaigns take forever to fund or are never funded. Not The Rank Game! It only took 48 hours to be fully funded. People want non-technology based games to play with their families! The Rank Game was also named a Top Favorite Pick at the 2020 Toy Fair!
