I know today is not Memorial Day, but since it is Faithful Friday and we are heading into the holiday weekend, I decided there was no better day than today. My father was in the military, and although he was out before I was born, I am still the daughter of a military man. He did not die in service to this country, but he would have if he needed to.
I thank God for the sacrifices made by men and women who made sure that we maintained our freedom. We are so blessed to live in a nation where we truly do know what it is to be free. It is because those same men and women paid the ultimate price…for us.
I am forever grateful to the service members who gave everything they had right until their very last breath. It is because of that sacrifice that I am able to write this blog. It is because of that sacrifice that you can read it. Freedom is not free.
So this weekend when you are celebrating the start of summer, stop for a moment and say a prayer of thanks.
