If you have never heard of #GivingTuesday, I will fill you in!
#GivingTuesday is a campaign that was created to take the focus off of the Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Cyber week craziness and instead focus on beginning the season off with giving. Spearheaded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y in New York City, the campaign helped increase charitable donations with over 2,500 officially recognized partners across the United States. That does not even take into account all of the people who on their own, decided to join in.
If you read my previous blog entitled Are You Willing to Be a Part of Giving #5000Gifts?, you know that my family and church are attempting to give 5000 gifts this Christmas season. I believe that it would be amazing for our families, especially our children to possibly combine both ideas.
As you have probably read in my previous blogs, I am an Awareness Angel for an organization that I truly believe in called Give Kids the World. You can read part one of my blog here. This year, Give Kids the World Village is participating in #GivingTuesday and has created a #GivingTuesday Challenge in hopes of raising awareness for their wonderful organization. Please take a look at their challenge and if you feel led, consider giving to this worthwhile cause. Give Kids the World Village has a 4 star rating with Charity Navigator and uses over 92% of donations for programs and services they deliver. That is an astounding percentage!
