When I was offered the chance to review a book in the Get to Know series by Nancy I. Sanders, I jumped at the chance. As a homeschooler, I was looking for a book that could be used as part of a Bible study with my children. When it arrived and I started reading the book, I knew I had found not only a great book for my children, but one that I would learn alot from as well.
The Get To Know books are a series of biographies on the Apostle Paul, Jesus, Mary, and King David. The books are small, so they fit nicely in little hands, and the quality is amazing. Once you hold this book in your hands, you will know what I mean. The cover is sturdy enough to withstand those same little hands and the paper it is printed on is quality stock. This book is filled with so much useful information, but is not given in a hit-you-over-the-head way. It is presented in a very clear and concise manner and is filled with beautiful images.
Each chapter uses four icons which highlight certain items that help the child recognize important facts. Here is a picture of what you would see in the book!
The book, Apostle Paul, is well written and filled with beautiful images which include some of the ruins that allow readers to see the actual locations of events in the Bible. I feel this is such a great addition to the book because it brings not only the book, but the Bible to life. There are also maps, definitions, and wonderful captions that really help the readers know what they are looking at. I highly recommend this book, as well as the other books in the Get to Know series. Get to Know: Apostle Paul can be purchased through Zondervan Books.
