One of my favorite ways to bring the season into m

One of my favorite ways to bring the season into my home is by making a simple yet fragrant stovetop potpourri.

Ingredients:
5-6 fresh apples, sliced
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon vanilla extract or maple extract (optional)
Water (enough to cover the ingredients)

Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the apples into rounds or wedges, leaving the skins on to enhance the fragrance.
2. Combine in a Pot: In a large pot, add the apple slices, ground cinnamon, and cinnamon sticks. If you'd like a sweeter note, add the vanilla or maple extract.
3. Bring to a Boil: Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients, then turn the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil.
4. Simmer: Once it’s boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. Keep an eye on it, adding more water as needed to keep it from drying out.
5. Enjoy: Let the potpourri simmer throughout the day, and enjoy the cozy, inviting aroma that fills your home.

Reuse and Enjoy All Week Long

This potpourri not only smells amazing, but it's also a wonderful way to use up extra apples. You can keep it simmering for hours, and the best part? You can refrigerate and reuse the mixture for a few days by reheating it. It’s a beautiful way to transition your home into fall and make it feel like a warm, inviting retreat from the chilly air outside.
