Have you ever had one of those mornings where you’re sitting with God, just waiting for Him to speak? That was me today. I had already written in my prayer journal, read my Bible, and worked through The Bible Recap plan I’ve been following, but I still felt something more stirring in my heart. The Holy Spirit was nudging me, prompting me to listen more closely.
Learning to Listen More Intentionally
Lately, I’ve made it a point to be more intentional about listening for God’s voice and being aware of when He’s speaking. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in doing all the “right” things—reading, praying, journaling—but still miss that deeper connection He’s trying to make with us.
Asking God to Guide My Steps
Feeling this nudge, I opened my Bible again, but this time I prayed, “Lord, I’m not here to play Bible roulette. I don’t want to just flip through pages and hope I land on something You want me to see. I’m asking You to guide me, to lead me to exactly what I need to hear today.” With that, I put my hand on the edge of my Bible and opened it. What I found didn’t just surprise me—it reassured me. God, in His grace and mercy, knows when I need a reminder of who He is and how much He loves me.
Seeking Guidance
This wasn’t just a message for me, though. I needed this Word for my family and for the women’s ministry I lead. With our biggest outreach event coming up in less than two weeks, I want everything I do and say to come from Him. I want to be led by His Spirit in every decision, just like our family has been doing. We’re walking each day, asking, “What’s the next thing He’s called us to do?” and then stepping forward in faith.
Has God Ever Given You a Word?
Have you ever had a moment when God directed you to a verse, and you just knew it was meant for you? What was it? I’d love to hear about how He has spoken to you in your journey.
